Leaving behind the heady scent of apple blossom on site, the local area is one of England's most vibrant destinations and demands to be explored. World-famous Glastonbury is just down the road – home to the iconic festival and arguably the nation's epicentre of all things spiritual. Must see are Chalice Well, Glastonbury Tor, Glastonbury Abbey are the many eclectic shops and cafés along the high street.
The Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels make for fantastic rambles – in fact the whole region is eminently explorable on foot, with a footpath linking many of the surrounding villages and Coombe Hill Wood leaving directly from the orchard.
The area is also fantastic for cycling, with quiet country roads with plenty of things to see along the way. There are options for flat gentle rides or more challenging hill rides all starting from the campsite entrance.
The coastal resorts of Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Lyme Regis and the Jurassic costs are less than an hour's drive away.
Along with the city of Bath with its UNESCO world heritage site and Bristol’s street art culture there are many attractions for you to visit. Then again, you may opt for life back at camp, enjoying a chilled glass of Somerset cider sourced from the very same trees.
