Things to do

Things to do it the local area

Leaving behind the heady scent of apple blossom on site, the local area is one of England’s most vibrant destinations that demands to be explored. World-famous Glastonbury is just down the road – home to the iconic festival and arguably the nation’s epicentre of all things spiritual. Must see are Chalice Well, Glastonbury Tor, Glastonbury Abbey and the many eclectic shops and cafés along the high street.

The Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels make for fantastic walking – in fact the whole region is easily explorable on foot. Leaving from the orchard using footpaths and lanes you can get to the surrounding villages and Coombe Hill Wood.

The area is also good for cycling, with quiet country roads and plenty of things to see along the way. There are options for flat gentle rides or more challenging hill rides all starting from the campsite.

The coastal resorts of Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Lyme Regis and the Jurassic coast are less than an hour’s drive away.

There are many attractions in Bath, with its UNESCO world heritage centre and nearby Bristol’s street art culture. Then again, you may opt for life back at campsite, enjoying a chilled glass of Somerset cider sourced from the very same trees.
